Arabica beans are the most commonly produced variety and considered high quality beans. Arabica is ovular and flat in shape and contains more oil on its surface than other types. In fact, over 75% of the coffee beans in the world are produced are of the Arabica variety. It is more expensive than Robusta because of its growing difficulties and harvesting process.
Arabica is smoother, zesty and sweeter in taste and has flavour notes of chocolate and sugar with hints of fruits and berries. Arabica beans contain less calories, grow to 15 feet tall, produce a lower yield, and because of this, it takes more work to harvest the number of beans needed to brew your favourite coffee drinks. Robusta coffee is one of two coffee species consumed globally. It makes up around 25% of global coffee production. Robusta is smaller and rounder in shape. As it contains less oil, it gives a natural flavour. Robusta is renowned for its bitter, traditional "coffee" taste. Robusta is widely used in espresso blends. Robusta has a stronger, harsher and bitter taste, with grainy overtones. In health benefits Robusta has higher amounts of chlorogenic acid and antioxidants than arabica coffee which helps in lowering blood pressure and boost metabolism.
When we talk about price, Robusta is cheaper than Arabicas because it grows at lower altitudes and less care is required so it is easy to grow. The plants could reach up to 20 feet.

Which is better, Arabica or Robusta?
Robusta beans are stronger in flavor and higher in caffeine. Since Robusta demand isn't what it used to be, farmers are moving towards organic farming. This should lead to better Robusta production quality.
